COMPUTER GURU

We all live in a metropolitan and lead a comfortable life- using computers and laptops by using them as our many alternatives to communicate with the world. We send e-mails and chat on social networking sites and find it easier to stay in contact with our friends.

But there are still some regions in India where using a computer describes the qualification of a person. The person who knows how to use the computer is considered to be a person with a lot of brain!!!!!!!!

I am not writing this blog by studying from any article. I have experienced this situation.

Some months back I went to the TIRWA district of Uttar Pradesh. The things which I am going to tell you now may or may not amaze you but as far as I am concerned, I was seriously shocked when I saw all this.

This is the story of a 26 year old boy named Sumit. He owns a cyber cafe which is the only one of its kind in the whole district. Just because of his knowledge of computers he is given as much importance as any political leader. He is considered as the most knowledgeable person in the entire district. He has been invited to the inauguration of several events. From his cafe, he earns about Rs. 25000-30000 every month. He earns this amount by sending the e-mails of people to their relatives living in cities or other countries and by giving them computer training. Shocking, is it??

He charges Rs. 200-250 just for sending an e-mail if it is to be sent anywhere in INDIA and if it is to be sent abroad like in USA or somewhere else then the charges may reach up to Rs. 500.

If there is a fault in the computer set up in any government bank then he is paid for fixing that. People there are so illiterate that they don't understand the problem if the internet connection does not work.

Once, a bank officer tried to make a customer understand that the transaction could not be done because the server was down. Then the reply that came was- tera server down ho ya ghar bar down ho mujhe mera paisa abhi chahiye nahi to tod dunga sab. The situation was going out of control when the computer guru was called who made the customers understand in his own way why the server was not working.

This is the condition of our country. It is a just an example but there are still many live incidents taking place in rural areas all the time. We may reach up till the skies....but our country will not develop as long as rural areas are not made to develop....

Technology based advertisements

Whether you are looking for a specific item or just browsing for ideas, advertisements are the best help you can get. You can easily shop for some of the hottest items on the market. Advertising is the process to publicise which includes the name of a product or service and how that product or service could benefit the consumer, to persuade a target market to purchase or to consume that particular brand.  These messages are usually paid for by sponsors and viewed via various media. Advertising can also serve to communicate an idea to a large number of people in an attempt to convince them to take a certain action. The advertisement helps and informs the consumer about qualities and price of goods and this makes purchasing easy for the consumers. As the prices are already advertised, the consumers cannot be over charged.  By regular advertisement, the manufacturer can sell the goods directly to the consumers without depending on middlemen; this eliminates the Middleman's charges and profit. It means higher profit to the manufacturer and lower prices to the consumers. It helps in improvement of the quality of the goods. The consumers are attracted by the quality of the products that are advertised. If the consumers are convinced that the quality is the same that is advertised, they continue buying.  It helps the consumer to save time. It raises the living standard of consumers.  It provides knowledge about the new designs of the commodities to consumers and thus consumers consume those commodities and increase their living standard.

There are various ways in which we can advertise our product in the Print media like Newspapers, Magazines, Brochures, Fliers .The print media has always been a popular advertising medium. Advertising products via newspapers or magazines is a common practice. Often the newspapers and the magazines sell the advertising space according to the area occupied by the advertisement, the position of the advertisement (front page/middle page), as well as the readership of the publications. The price of print ads also depends on the supplement in which they appear, for example an advertisement in the glossy supplement costs way higher than that in the newspaper supplement which uses a mediocre quality paper.

Outdoor Advertising is done by Tradeshows and Events. Outdoor advertising is also a very popular form of advertising, which makes use of several tools and techniques to attract the customers outdoors. The most common examples of outdoor advertising are billboards. The billboard advertising is very popular however has to be really terse and catchy in order to grab the attention of the passersby. For instance a company that manufactures sports utilities can sponsor a sports tournament to advertise its products.

Broadcast advertising is by Television, Radio and the Internet. Broadcast advertising is a very popular advertising medium that constitutes of several branches like television, radio or the Internet. Television advertisements have been very popular ever since they have been introduced. The radio jingles have been very popular advertising media and have a large impact on the audience. For example 3d motion ads like cartoon scripts are used for attracting crowds. Covert Advertising is done in Movies. Covert advertising is a unique kind of advertising in which a product or a particular brand is incorporated in some entertainment and media channels like movies, television shows or even sports  like the appearance of brand Nokia which is displayed on Tom Cruise’s phone in the movie Minority Report, or the use of Cadillac cars in the movie Matrix Reloaded.

Sometimes an indirect advertising is also done like Fosters and Kingfisher beer brands, which are often seen to promote their brand with the help of surrogate advertising. Advertisement for products like cigarettes or alcohol which are injurious to heath are prohibited by law in several countries and hence these companies have to come up with several other products that might have the same brand name and indirectly remind people of the cigarettes or beer bottles of the same brand.

Advertising for Social Causes is another form. Public service advertising is a technique that makes use of advertising as an effective communication medium to convey socially relevant messages about important matters and social welfare causes like AIDS, energy conservation, political integrity, deforestation, illiteracy, poverty and so on. David Ogilvy who is considered to be one of the pioneers of advertising and marketing concepts had reportedly encouraged the use of advertising field for a social cause.
