After almost a two month gap, we at Creative Call are back with our weekly blogs. MBICEM’s Technology Club, MBITEC, is celebrating this week as ‘Technology Week’ and so this entry comes as an informal and personal attempt to get to you the latest happenings in the techno-world from around the globe.
I remember reading a feature (in a December 2010 issue of Brunch) that described gadgets that we can expect in the new decade. One of the items mentioned there was that of a cell-phone projector. Imagine carrying a 2’ x 5’ mobile phone in your pocket which you could take out any time and watch your favourite movie projected on a big screen! Isn’t that amazing? Well, Spice launched the first Projector cell-phone last week! Priced at Rs. 7000/- this device promises to be one of the most successful gadgets, modern technology has seen!
From the analytical and difference engines of Charles Babbage to the Super computers, Personal Computers and Laptops, the computer has passed through a vast sea of change in a very short span of time. The latest in the line-up are the tablet PCs or palmtops. The pioneer of technology advancement, Apple Inc., recently launched the second edition of its iPad. The immense success of the iPad couldn’t stop the company from launching iPad-2 with many more features that promise to overcome the shortcomings of version 1. With the profile camera now added, video chatting is no longer a problem. You no longer need to hold a mirror at the back of the device to get your face captured on the screen! Hehe…
The rate of technology advancement is not an undiscussed topic and everyone understands it well that a ‘newer’ technology is already in the pipeline whenever we get to know about a ‘new’ one! Well we have got robbots today, is it too much if we expect pseudo cloned humans tomorrow?
